The Stoneridge Dental Philosophy

Dr. Anthony Bielke at Stoneridge Dental has adopted a judgement-free, patient centered philosophy to running his practice. The state-of-the-art dental office is comfortable and relaxed and the highly trained staff is able to treat the entire family, making dental visits more convenient.

Please describe the philosophy that you’ve adopted at Stoneridge Dental.

Dr. Anthony Bielkie: I love your question. I’ve always wondered why you can’t be all things to all people, so that’s what we try to do at Stoneridge. A warm, welcoming environment. We have a no lecture zone. A lot of people haven’t been to the dentist in 10 years and the biggest reason they’d say is they were afraid, there were financial concerns, and then they were embarrassed that their things got out of control and where better to go than to a dentist to help you take care of your problems? We are not here to judge people. We are here to try to make things affordable and we are trying to give them the best dental care that today’s technology will allow.

In what ways is your dental office a calm and relaxing environment?

Dr. Anthony Bielkie: Liz, I don’t know if you’re familiar with Panera in your area, but it’s a really nice coffee shop and everything is kind of lighthearted, and that is what we do at Stoneridge. We don’t wear the scary white coats. Pleasant music playing in the background. We have televisions in every room. I don’t take myself too seriously. I am here to help you. I am here to help the patient. And we are here to inform you, allow you to make, be an active part of the decision-making. We have some patients that I am their dentist and I see them once every four years for an emergency, and other patients we see every three months for preventative care. We really try to take the fear out of going into dentistry. We do care. We don’t judge people. When people are ready, they will come back and have the comprehensive treatment that they deserve.

How has being able to treat adults and children helped the families in your practice?

Dr. Anthony Bielkie: Yeah, that’s a great question. I have three children and my wife and I are over-scheduled like most and we’re running to soccer and football and hockey and dance and we’re trying to fit in taking care of people, between homework and school and practices and coaches don’t want you to miss time. By being able to treat the whole family, frequently on the same day, we have a team of hygienists that come in and help take care of the kids, so Mom can bring the three kids in and frequently we can see all three at the same time. We see patients of all ages, so it’s not uncommon that Grandma comes that day and maybe she gets an implant or needs an issue with her denture. We’re allowed to do orthodontic consultations right at the cleaning appointment, because we have an in-house orthodontist. We have an oral surgeon that comes to the office. We do wisdom teeth. We’re open Monday through Thursday until seven o’clock. We’re open every Friday and Saturday at one of our locations. We’re just here to help people and not be a hindrance or put any obstacles into getting the dental care that they know that they need.

What are the different dental services available at your practice?

Dr. Anthony Bielkie: Yeah, our goal is to be able to handle 99% of all dental issues in-house, so you’re not constantly being referred. Now, don’t take me wrong. Don’t get me wrong; there are those occasions that if we can’t do it for you, we know of the specific person in our area or in the country that can help you with extremely unusual situations. But for the most part, if you have a toothache, you can get a root canal the same day. We do same-day extractions of wisdom teeth. Same-day fixing of most denture repairs. Orthodontic repairs, any other issues like that that we can do in our office, we try to do it all in the same day if we can. We understand people are on time crunches. It’s hard to get out of work. We’re open evenings and Saturdays and we will do everything we can to see you as soon as we can, and in many times that is the same day.

What role does your staff play in your patients’ office visits?

Dr. Anthony Bielkie: Yeah, our office staff are amazing. We have invested a lot of money in state-of-the-art technology, beautiful offices, and have all the latest and greatest bells and whistles, and that’s one of the reasons I enjoy being a dentist. But what it really comes down to, the reason that Stoneridge Dental has been continuously growing and increasing in our patient population is that we care and we have incredible, highly-trained staff. We invest in those staff. We send them to continuing education classes. We specifically pick the brightest and the best and the most caring and give them the tools they need to succeed. We tell all of our employees that if this isn’t an office that you want to bring your family and your friends to, then you tell us why that is and we’re going to make some changes. Over the years, we’ve just developed an incredible team and I’m so proud to be part of it.
